Nikki Jean strikes me because she is multi-talented and smart. What I like most is that she is so real and ordinary. She has class and she is very deserving of this spot.

Thom Browne for those that do not know is a fashion designer and he is the most current Fashion Designer of the year. Making him the first American in a while. So congrats again to TB. I like him. At first i didn't like the short pants look but now, i kind of like it.the whole short suit idea is genius it takes a look frowned upon (flooding and too small long sleeve shirts) and makes it public. Ok so oldies 104.3 had this sweet hour of music and the theme was time. well when i say good flower power 60s-70s music was on i mean good music. im talking Jim Croce, America, Classic Elton John, and many more... yeah i know that was only three but chill out ok ..haha

Anyway perhaps my favorite song played was Tin Man by America, this song is off of their "Holiday Album". This is the same group who made "horse with no name"(from their debut self titled America) another great song of the past. they have that folky, "im alright you will be too" sound that sparks my ear;both in their singing and in the magical guitar(s) and cool( cold like fresh lemonade, you know where the glass sweats) melodies.

Back to Tin man; the recorded version sounds alright but listen to the live version on the youtube link below the song has a great feel to it. I really admire music made by people who are in a band and do it with instruments live instruments... anywayzerrs im outy enjoy the music and have a great one.

So I purchased this album lat week but I didn't really listen to it until now(that how I know i am getting too much music at once) ARE you srious this ALBUM is AWESOME. i know i say that a lot but have you seen my musical library not bragging just backing up my statement LOL.

The Killers- Day & Age. I mean WOW awesome album. I had heard the killers first album(Hot Fuss) but never bought it; and I heard some of "Sawdust" but "Day and Age" is my favorite! I mean my God!!! From top to bottom not a track to skip. my favorites are Human and This is Your Life. if you dont listen to Rock normally this is an awesome place to start! and if you go to amazon now its only 3.99 on digital download.

The moment...

exists , at the point you realize that are you are satisfied, that you have what you want (or at least know what you may want). Its not that you have everything figured out but its that split second when you feel comfortable,, when you realize you dont want to be anywhere else. This can be the peace you have in the midst of the storm, It can be the feeling you get after a good surprise when you know you are appreciated even though prior too you were feeling the opposite. ,or it could be as simple being with someone whos company you really enjoy;maybe a grandparent,an aunt,or uncle, a parent or sibling, but for me at this Moment its my girlfriend, my doo-wop my lady. And i see in this moment that i am comfortable, i am happy and i am satisfied... i love you.

Check out this game. i heard about it from mmm..mary jane's blog i read a few days ago but didn't pay any attention to it. i just got finished playing it for like an hour it literally ate up my time; but i don't mind because i don't have anything to do. Sunday definitely is related to Monday is some way that i have yet to name.

Anyway check out the game at the link below. The game uses physics and puzzles to keep you on your toes and constantly thinking. The tutorial is very helpful and the music is good "let me figure this thing out" music, so i hope you enjoy.

I highly recommend that you music heads purchase this CD. Its a 14-track project executive produced by Kanye West.

i think i will hold off on the purchase for the sake of my mission (the previous BLOG)!

MUSIC and MOVING AHEAD

I am currently spending something like 30-35 dollars a month on music. this money could be saved and directed toward saving up for my headshots and signing with a local agency.

So i decided to only buy Kanye West's new CD and Common's CD maybe BP3..idk this cuts down on the Cd's i would buy in between these (moka only, cool calm pete ,outkast(stankonia), dido(Safe Trip Home), the killers(day&night?), feist ["the reminder" re-release], erykah badu (new amerykah,pt.1), and n*e*r*d (fly or die), & more)

so... i know what i want and im gonna get it. Once im there i can buy all the Cd's i want. Thank you and goodbye!

It would be OK to be stranded if my lady was with me..but she wasn't she was at a mystery ______(fill in the blank). So i don't see her again until the early morning. I wake up she leaves again. :( I finally get a ride back home.

D a Weekend Part 2

Sunday-
I sleep in late, waking up at noon. I call my girlfriend we talk she starts my day off GREAT! i take a shower wash my face do my weekly facial, and i then plan to eat some good food(it was good) and begin to find out why i am Hella behind in Arabic, and begin to practice for Guitar (on Tuesday).

However, i finish eating and my mother asks can i buy some laundry detergent and some water(i don't mind);so i get ready and i leave. First i head to Kroger i get into the parking lot and I realize there is no money in my account because i did not have the chance to deposit my check this weekend, so i have to go to the bank and then go to a closer Kroger, so i do.

I deposit my check in my Acct. and then I stroll on to Kroger. (Now I am feeling REALLy good a little turned off by myself because i am a tad unfocused, but nonetheless i am good.) i am listening to the Evolution of Robin Thicke- teach u a lesson,need love,wanna love u girl,shooter, Lost without you...in that order)

I arrive at Kroger, get my ipod, wallet, grocery list and phone i double check to make sure i have those items. I look around one last time, get up tie my scarf tighter and close the door. I don't hear a jingle i look in the car and BAM there are my keys, in the ignition the car is OFF(thank god). But the keys... the keys are in the LOCKED CAR!!!!!!!! AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

So I look at the windows, they are all up, DANG!I cant use a hanger.. i don't wanna stay out here when i cant think of anything to do so i go in and proceed with shopping. I finish shopping i see my man Marcus J. say wat-up, we chat. then i tell him what happens.. i leave and proceed to figure out what to do. so i make the first of what will be 18 calls to my mother (its 2:47pm). I call and call my mother and my pops... NO ANSWER!!!!!! they are home mind you.

I begin thinking can i buy a wedge to wedge my door and then get a hanger and undo the lock... i go to the dollar store ...NOPE... i go back into KROGER...NOPE!I decide maybe i will go to these gas stations near me and see if they have any type of locksmith service. I go into both of them and what do they say..."No, but you can come tomorrow!" WTF fools I need it now yo! i gotta get home tonight..AAHHH! so i leave. So i then go into Dress Barn of all places. While they dont have a wire hanger they do have a smart lady who tells me to call the city police dept. and they can unlock my car for me. I say thank you and think to myself finally its solved!(its 5:03p)

I call the city police dept. only to hear that they only unlock cars if a child is in the car...WTF! i am a citizen in need. You are a person of the law its Sunday and you are telling me you cant even come and help me get my keys out my CAR. B to the S!
so the representative says to call AAA or a locksmith service. I call AAA but i am transferred to a Locksmith company... bunch a BULLY.

so the dude asks my location and car make, i tell him . I am feeling better now b.c i know things are coming to and end and i can proceed with my Sunday. I figure what a weekend this was(wait till u read part 1). but it ends with my mistake and the good service of a locksmith...

about 20minutes pass and the dude arrives, not in a company vehicle but in a KIA...his KIA. I'm like whoa this is fishy is this man on some type of scam tip. Because this sure feels like one. I direct him to my car. The first words out of his mouth are... oh man i know how this can be, let me help you man....NOT! his first words are ... do you know about the fees! i say no, he informs me and i go internally ballistic. BUT who else can i contact. my parents aren't picking up my siblings are out of state or too far in-state!

So he does his "job" more like "a job" and gets the keys out! i pay this sumgum and i am now pissed off. Pissed off that i paid him, pissed off i locked my keys in car for the umpteenth time this week. Pissed off its so cold that i cant feel my fingers. Pissed off my parents sleep now but not when when i come in the house late! just pissed off!

Finally i am in the car in an anger i haven't felt in a while. i take it out on the pedal shifting between 55-60 in a 45(pretty stupid esp.if i woulda gotten pulled over, i know) then my parents call!

this was my weekend. football was wack on TV today too and i have yet to do any Arabic homework.

PROCRASTINATING optomistic VOTER

So... Tuesday is well...you know you see it everywhere...

But i was sitting down today and thinking hmm... who else is running for election... who else can i vote for.

I'm not voting for McCain because of his clone like feel, not too mention i don't like the guy. but mostly because if he has to step down Palin is a no-go! she doesn't give me a feeling of security or assurance at all a sidekick , more like a parrot to McCain.

I'm not voting for Obama only because he's black. If i vote for anyone it will be because of their stances. But know its not gonna be MyCane or Failin Palin!

So I have a Mock Ballot and it Lists all the other party's: Green, Libertarian, U.S. Taxpayers,and Natural Law.

I am currently looking up Green Party which has two women running for presidency/vice presidency(Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente ) maybe I'll vote for them? sure they may not win but if i agree with there views why not.

I do fear that If MyCane wins that my vote would have counted in swaying things the other way but at the end of the day I voted for who i liked and agreed with the most. I think its best i research Obama/Biden and the other Parties so i make the best decision i can even if it is 3days before Election!

21 day challenge

So I was talking with my friend Sunnie, and he brought up eating better and becoming more healthy people.
I added that I have recently been considering vegetarianism again(i had done it when i was younger for about 3 months and vegan for about 2).
We both pointed out that Andre 3000, Murphy Lee,Common, and Dead Prez are all Vegetarians and that they are also cats that look to be in pretty darn good health and shape.

For me it has nothing to do with losing weight (have yo seen my handsome slim body o_O)
Its more of eating healthy and eating less meats that are being changed so rapidly like beef, and pork, and some chicken(as much as i don't like to think about it..oh my dear chicken :( )

But I do believe that our beef (that is mass produced in the fast food world) So i already planned on cutting down that consumption i do not believe that all the USDA approves should be as much as meats are recalled .
I cant say that I'll drop FISH or chicken totally but beef and pork. I stopped eating pork a while ago, so thats no prob.

Its a matter of eating more fruits, and vegetables really for me and exercise. Many people feel than because im slender (lol Darene) that i am healthy... and the same for other slim...slender folks..Untrue we still need to exercise and be active daily!

But back to the title i have made an agreement to go 21 days with no candy, beef, or pork, along with Sunnie Moon!

I want this to lead to a more healthier way of living. if i do go vegetarian eventually. Know that i will still eat good there are many great foods without meat but most are outside of the American Food taste or are made of soy (don't knock it till you taste it)!

So today is Day 2! 19 left to go monday is the official 3 day hump. I'll be ok! I think I'll continue living like this even after Nov. 22nd believe it or not. But as my mother says ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS"

WHAT THE F-CAT!!!!!!!!!

So I am currently very lost and i have a void in my heart, over the fact that i am getting new cds yet as of today (yesterday i guess haloozeez..LOL thanks doo-wop) i cannot find my I-PUD (not thats typed correctly bc thats how i pronounce it when i am looking for it). Usually i have a clue to where it is... but i am frageekin' baffled.

I check my car (NADA surf), I check my room (NADA SURF!), i check my clothes from yesterday (NADA FREEKIN' SURF)...!

so idk... I just received "In Search of.." Today, i planned on falling to sleep to it like i used too... but i dont think so... at least not in my headphones... i'll have to play it on my stereo.... BOOOO! that sucks !!!

Planning...Clothes,games,trips

So i was thinking, im 20. And I sometimes dress like im younger. So that means its time for me to go shopping. Like real shopping. so being the planner i am, i have set a shopping date. In which i will revamp my wardrobe dramatically. 1 by 1, shirt by shirt, pant by pant, etc...you get it!

The date is November 21st! it gives me enough time to save money, spend sufficient money on clothes, and still be able to eat and live well after the shopping occurs.

I worry that i won't buy well. Perhaps i need to go shopping with my fashion-smart Aunt !!!ah-ha! and we can shop. (writing does wonders). That is it! I may need to span these shopping sessions out through the months. i can;t imagine shopping all day my interest leaves me after 3-4 hours... i'll figure it out! :S

I like the Euro/Japanese Prep look (Monoco Magazine, Popeye Magazine,BRUTUS ),the nostalgic 30's look, the original Ocean's Eleven style dress and i have always dug High top Sneaks! My thing is i dont like looking like everyone else. Im sure i won't but i hate looking like the people i hang with. i mean somethings can be similar but we shouldn't look like a group of sextuplets!

the main thing i need to add to my repertoire are accessories (watches,glasses,sunglasses, hats, jackets,a pea coat). im not much of a bling bling chain guy but a nice watch does wonders for outfits. you know!?

So as i now grow up in my appearance...i think i will really enjoy what comes of this. So Auntie R. here i come.

So... i just fed my addiction to music, yesterday by ordering some very necessary tunes in my opinion .


1.In Search of.. -N.E.R.D. [ thanks Friday :D ]



2.Seeing Sounds -N.E.R.D. [I wasn't home when it released so now i can enjoy its goodness]



3. Aquemini - Outkast [ a great addition to your hip-hop Library]



4.The Concretes -The Concretes [their best album in the opinion of many..soon i'll see]


I am expecting most of these around the end of voting week...which is sweet because i would have copped that new Q-tip Nov,4th!! and then i can rest until December whenn Common,Kanye, and Jigga release (i may cop BP3 idk yet).

In addition I ordered 2 of many movies i have wanted to see:
1.Michael Clayton


2.Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme[documentary] -pac,mos def,black thought,wordsworth...a whole lotta Mc's ! i am really awaiting that DVD! below are snippets from the documentary.

JAMES GRADY 's upcoming ART SHOW ! ! !

So clearly one of the more talented and creative artists i know is James Grady.. known him since nba 2k days ...LOL! I am proud to promote and introduce others to this artist as well.

His next Show will be entitled "Bad Bubbles" . it should be great! hopefully if its this summer I'll be home to see it!
